UFC PS3 Undisputed 2009 Game
The UFC PS3 Undisputed 2009 game brings mixed martial arts and cage fighting into your own living room. Now in devastatingly real graphics you can feel the action and intensity of the (UFC) Ultimate Fighting Championship.
UFC 2009 Undisputed is as real as any fighting game I’ve seen. All the big names are here, including many of the famous mixed martial arts fighters you’re used to seeing in the live UFC matches.
Lineup of Fighters for UFC 2009 Undisputed
One of the biggest parts of playing UFC Undiputed is getting the chance to play as your favorite fighter. With UFC 2009 you can choose from 16 of the UFC’s biggest champions from five weight divisions.
Some of the UFC fighters you can play as are Chuck Liddell, George St. Pierre, Anderson Silva, Brock Lesnar, BJ Penn and more. In addition to the fighters there’s a complete cast of usuals found in UFC fights like commentators, in-game trainers, ring announcers, and sexy card girls.
Not only can you play as one of your favorite UFC fighters, you can also create your own character. Choose from an extensive list of playable UFC fighters and other in-game characters with over eighty headline fighters at your disposal. You can even create your own character with its own unique look and talents.
With each character you play you can increase your attributes, practice your moves and fights for entry into the UFC Hall of Fame. There’s also a variety of dynamic storylines that can either instigate enemies or create friendships within the game.
Gameplay for UFC 2009 Undisputed
As mentioned earlier the PS3 UFC 2009 has the most authentic representation of mixed martial arts I’ve ever seen from a video game. As you play you can select from six fighting disciplines and develop strategies according to your strengths and weaknesses, build friendships and make enemies.
As you begin your player starts with a fighter who has one primary striking discipline, and one primary grappling martial discipline. These skills will make up your standing game and your grappling game and reflect how well your character does in each area of fighting.
While it might take you a while to master all of the controls for your standing and grappling game, it will be well worth the effort. With your standing game you’ll utilize quick combos of punches and kicks to strike your opponent. With kicks from the perimeter or using elbows or knees you’ll attempt to unleash your power and go for the knockout.
Taking the action to the ground and using your grappling skills requires that you knock your opponent off their feet. Once their on the canvas you’ll want to go for the submission and make them tap out, or achieve the dominant position and wail away on them.
The UFC 2009 Undisputed’s ‘ultimate fighting control’ game mechanic is an innovative control system operated with the right control stick. This allows you to transition your fighter from one position to the other and always be aware of an opponents counter-moves.
While you may prefer to develop a character who dominates the standing game, sooner or later the in-game competition will become too challenging without development of your grappling skills.
Mixed Martial Arts Fighting Styles
UFC 2009 Undisputed features six international fighting disciplines that are primarily seen without real life UFC bouts. With action as real as possible to actual UFC octagon action. The fighting moves consist of combination’s of different aspects of various fighting disciplines. You can use your abilities to neutralize the power of a stronger fighter, frustrate and instigate or go for the knock out by reining down punches.
The six disciplines fall into two categories – striking disciplines and grappling disciplines:
Striking disciplines:
- Kick Boxing – Integrate boxing punches with lethal martial arts kicking and you get the kick Boxing fighting style
- Boxing – Fast powerful jabs, hooks and uppercuts combines with complex foot maneuvers mount the powerful offensive style known as boxing
- Muay Thai – Called Thai boxing, this style depends on throwing, elbows, kicking knees and low kicks frequently while in the clinch position
- Judo – The Japanese martial art of Judo focuses on throw one’s opponent to the ground, forcing an opponent to submit by joint locking the elbow or subduing them with the help of a choke
- Wrestling – Take down your opponent with grappling using hand-to-hand maneuvers is the style known as wrestling

When you first start out exercising with Wii Fit you’ll want to create a profile by entering in many of your physical characteristics. Attributes such as age, height, as well as actions like performing several tests are necessary to create a baseline for your fitness level.
One of the tests is your Body Mass Index check or BMI. It’s just a measure of your bodies fat in regard to your height and weight. The BMI is used by many top health organizations as a standard for health. To take this test you’ll need to enter your height into the program and then stand on the Wii Balance Board to determine your weight.
Another test you’ll take after you’ve checked your BMI is a basic balance test. The balance test will help you determine your Wii Fit Age. By controlling your left and right balance you’ll be assigned a Wii Fit Age.
An interesting feature of the Wii Fit is its ability to track your ongoing progress and the activities you do as you go along. The Wii Fit takes the activities you perform the most and adds them to your favorites inside your own profile.
Using this information you can see which exercise areas are your strengths and which areas need improvement. By tracking your daily progress with the Wii Fit you can easily see how you’re progressing day to day.
Keeping taps on your progress is made easy using graphs and charts, reading your profile, checking your BMI results and setting goals. There’s also a helpful feature that lets you enter in an exercise you’ve done outside of your Wii fit workouts to give you an accurate impression of your results.
There’s room for you or up to eight of your family members or friends to create their own profiles. There’s also a cool tracking feature that lets you see your friends or families BMI and Fit Credit totals, which can create a little friendly competition.
Probably one of the fundamental aspects of the Wii Fit is finding your center of balance. Using the Wii Balance Board you can improve your posture by finding your center and increasing your balance.
Capable of supporting weights up to 300 pounds the Balance Board is similar in appearance to a step aerobics board. It’s able to measure weight and register pressure accurately. This high level of sensitivity is what makes such a wide range of activities and workout variation possible. Because of this the board can often determine individual users by their weight alone.
For many the Wii Fit is not a game but an actual fitness regimen that will challenge you while bringing a part of your gym into your living room.
